2009 President's Trophy Air Race
Supplementary Rules and Regulations

1. GENERAL

1.1 These Supplementary Rules are issued in terms of Clause 17 of the Official Rules and Regulations of the PRESIDENT'S TROPHY AIR RACE.

2. HANDICAPPING

2.1 The handicaps for certain aircraft where it is possible to determine the handicap without a test flight will be published on or about the end of April 2010 on the SAPFA website. Other aircraft will have to be test flown.

2.2 Should entrants flying type certified aircraft not be satisfied with the handicap supplied then they may, within 7 days of publication or by indicating the fact on their entry form, apply to have their aircraft test flown.

2.3 The aircraft that finished in the top 10 positions in the Race held in 2009 may be test flown at the discretion of the Handicapping Committee.

2.4 The Competition Director and Handicapping Committee reserve the right to test fly any aircraft that, after Day 1, has improved on their handicap by 2 minutes or more. Handicaps may be changed as a result of these test flights.

2.5 No other changes will be made to handicaps without good reason.

3 CHARTS

3.1 The Race organizers will supply each entrant with a set of charts with a scale of 1:500 000 OR a set of charts with a scale of 1:250 000.

4 ACCOMMODATION

4.1 Accommodation is available for participants at various venues as published on the SAPFA website.

4.2 Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation.

5 BULETINS

5.1 Information bulletins will be issued by the competition director from time to time if it is deemed necessary.

5.2 These information bulletins will be posted on the SAPFA web site and will be emailed to participants with entries that have been accepted by the Race Director.

5.3 Rulings contained in the information bulletins are binding on participants.

6 DRESS CODE

6.1 The dress code for the prize giving banquet has always been formal, viz dress suit, dark lounge suit, National colours or Air Race winners jackets.

7 ENTRY FEES

7.1 The entry fee will be R1 300 per aircraft. The fee for a late entry will be R1 500.
